Under the new resolution, the State Personal Data Protection Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers has been added to the list.

The list of information classified as state secrets and handled by the agency has also been expanded.

In particular, this information now explicitly includes information on data protection tools used to process information classified as state secrets, including cryptographic information protection tools. Authority in this area is assigned to the Personal Data Protection Agency and the State Committee for National Security.

The Personal Data Protection Agency has also been added as an authorized body for several other existing categories of classified information. The text of the resolution does not disclose the contents of these categories, as the amendments simply add the agency to the existing list of responsible authorities.

The amendments were made to Cabinet Resolution No. 206 of April 26, 2024, which approved the list of bodies authorized to classify information as state secrets and the list of key information constituting Kyrgyzstan’s state secrets.

The Cabinet of Ministers said the amendments are aimed at ensuring the protection of state secrets.

The resolution will enter into force in seven days.
