According to Nurdan Oruntaev, construction of most of the schools began in March of this year. Approximately 7 billion soms have been allocated from the budget for the construction of the ten educational facilities. All schools are designed for large capacity, with the exception of one small facility.

The minister noted that the construction schedule for some schools has been delayed due to soil conditions in Osh. Due to the soft soil, excavation work and foundation construction require more time.

«If we don’t make it in September, then all the facilities should be completed in October,» Oruntaev said.

After construction is completed, the schools will undergo a three-stage inspection. According to the minister, the buildings are designed for seismic resistance up to magnitude 9. However, the actual safety factor will be approximately 20 percent higher than the established requirement.
