Akunbekov said the main purpose of his working visit to China was to establish direct contacts between Kyrgyz and Chinese companies operating in the petroleum products sector and accelerate fuel supplies to Kyrgyzstan.
According to him, Kyrgyz businesses have already begun cooperating with Chinese companies. Several companies have signed contracts to supply aviation fuel and diesel, and the first shipments have already been delivered to Kyrgyzstan.
The sides also discussed joint projects to explore and develop oil and gas fields in Kyrgyzstan, build oil refineries, and establish infrastructure for the storage and transit of cargo at border crossing points.
Chen Xiaojiang said China was ready to support mutually beneficial projects and develop trade with Kyrgyzstan through XUAR.
Following the meeting, the sides agreed to accelerate fuel and lubricant supplies, taking into account the situation on global oil markets and the need to ensure stable supplies of petroleum products to Kyrgyzstan.
The sides also plan to prepare and sign relevant bilateral documents during the upcoming SCO Summit of Heads of State in Kyrgyzstan and Chinese President Xi Jinping’s state visit to Kyrgyzstan.
