At the same time, warmer temperatures are creating opportunities to grow more heat-loving crops in areas where grasses and grains were previously the main crops. This includes some districts of Naryn region and Dzhumgal.

However, experts warn that simply replacing one crop with another is not enough. Farmers need access to seedlings and agricultural technologies, water-saving irrigation systems and, most importantly, guaranteed markets for their produce.
