The inspection was conducted with the participation of representatives from the Veterinary Service, the National Academy of Sciences, and other government agencies following reports on social media about a possible disease outbreak among marmots.

«Following the inspection, no signs of diseases were detected among marmots in Chui region, including symptoms that could indicate suspected plague. Specialists carried out visual monitoring of the marmot population and determined that the animals are in satisfactory condition,» the ministry said.

The Ministry of Natural Resources noted that no natural plague foci have previously been registered in Chui region.

According to the ministry, government agencies continue monitoring particularly dangerous infections throughout Kyrgyzstan. Anti-plague stations in Issyk-Kul, Naryn, Osh, and Talas regions conduct regular monitoring and preventive measures.
