The parties discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation, ensuring public safety in border areas, and issues of interaction between the regions. Particular attention was paid to the work of the intergovernmental commission on demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border. The participants emphasized the importance of promptly resolving emerging issues at the local level in a spirit of mutual understanding and good-neighborliness.

Furthermore, prospects for developing cultural, humanitarian, youth, sports, and economic ties between Batken and Sughd regions were discussed. The parties also noted the positive dynamics of trade and economic cooperation.

According to the regional administration, foreign trade turnover between Batken region and Tajikistan exceeded $700,000 from January to May 2026.

At the meeting, the implementation of the Kyrgyz Agroholding project at Kyzyl-Bel — Avtodorozhny checkpoint was also discussed. The project’s launch will create new jobs and provide additional impetus for the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries.

Following the talks, the parties confirmed their commitment to further strengthening friendly and neighborly relations between Batken and Sughd regions, as well as to continue cooperation on issues of mutual interest.
