According to specialists, the appearance of this rare predator indicates favorable conditions for wildlife habitation within the concession area of the mine.

Data from the Sarychat-Ertash State Nature Reserve show that the population of the Tian Shan white-clawed brown bear within its territory stands at 17 individuals. In this regard, the animal’s recorded presence at the mine is of particular interest to experts.

The white-clawed Tian Shan brown bear is under state protection, and hunting it is strictly prohibited.

It is also worth noting that swans were previously observed again in the Kumtor area after a long absence. In addition, the black-necked crane—one of the rarest crane species in the world—was recently recorded near the mine area at Sook Pass for the first time in Kyrgyzstan.

Observations of rare fauna species confirm the presence of favorable conditions for their habitation in the high-altitude areas of the Central Tien Shan.
