City officials said the new public transport will be purchased to meet the needs of residential areas that were recently added to the capital as part of an administrative-territorial reform.

The buses are intended to operate in areas where larger 10-meter buses cannot pass due to narrow roads.

In addition, 23 new routes will be launched across all four districts of the capital.

Vice Mayor Ramiz Aliev previously stated that the buses will be delivered in stages throughout the year, with the first batch expected by the start of the school year. The cost of the vehicles depends on features such as air conditioning, video surveillance systems, and the manufacturer.
