According to the agency, the program is aimed at developing monumental art, creating a unified system for training creative professionals in the field of sculpture and sculpting, and providing state support for this area of fine art.
It is noted that this art form plays an important role in educating the younger generation, developing talents, fostering aesthetic perception, and increasing interest in vocational training. Furthermore, it contributes to the preservation and development of folk crafts.
Sculpture is considered one of the most ancient forms of art. Over the centuries, images of people and animals have been created from stone, wood, bone, and other materials.
According to art historians, sculptures are divided into monumental and small forms. Monumental works are typically placed near buildings, in squares, museums, parks, and public gardens. A separate type is relief—a form intended to be perceived primarily from one side and created by elements projecting above the surface.
Currently, the streets, avenues, and cultural and leisure parks of Dushanbe are adorned with sculptural compositions dedicated to prominent figures of the country, poets and writers, folk heroes, and various artistic images.
Psychologists believe such works have a positive impact on the moral and spiritual development of society. In particular, busts of classic Tajik literary and scientific figures have been erected in front of the National Library of Tajikistan and the Writers' Union of Tajikistan, which is considered appropriate.
Sculpture, as a form of fine art, involves the creation of three-dimensional forms through carving, molding, or casting from various materials, including stone, wood, clay, and metal. This art form has an ancient history and, in Tajikistan, developed in the creation of images of prominent figures in science and literature, such as Rudaki, Firdavsi, and Jami. During the period of independence, sculpture acquired particular significance as a means of preserving historical memory and expressing national identity.
