According to him, the decision to hold the forum in Kyrgyzstan is connected with preparations for the 100th anniversary of the birth of writer Chingiz Aitmatov.

«We decided to hold the forum in Kyrgyzstan as part of preparations for the 100th anniversary of our outstanding fellow countryman, the great writer Chingiz Aitmatov. Immediately afterward, an event will be held dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Issyk-Kul Forum, which had a tremendous impact on the post-Soviet space,» Mikhail Shvydkoy said.

He noted that holding two consecutive events is symbolic in the year of the CIS’s 35th anniversary, emphasizing the importance of humanitarian cooperation between the Commonwealth countries.

Kyrgyzstan’s State Secretary Arslan Koichiev reported that Mikhail Shvydkoy was one of the main initiators of the forum.

According to him, approximately 200 representatives of science, culture, literature, and art from CIS countries have arrived in Bishkek to participate in the forum.

The forum is being held in Bishkek for two days and is dedicated to humanitarian cooperation, science, culture, and preparations for Chingiz Aitmatov’s anniversary.
