According to the presidential administration, the two sides discussed prospects for developing bilateral cooperation and collaboration on international platforms.
Japarov noted Kyrgyzstan’s interest in deepening ties with Cyprus in the areas of tourism, investment, finance, and interbank cooperation. Particular attention was paid to cooperation within international organizations.
Constantinos Kombos congratulated the president on his country’s election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council. According to him, this demonstrates the high level of trust the international community places in the republic and is an important achievement for Kyrgyz diplomacy.
The Foreign Minister of Cyprus emphasized that his visit aims to give new impetus to bilateral relations and expand cooperation between the two countries.
Sadyr Japarov thanked him for his congratulations and reaffirmed Kyrgyzstan’s readiness to develop a mutually beneficial partnership.
This is the first official visit by a Cypriot Foreign Minister to the Kyrgyz Republic in recent years. The talks are expected to intensify political and economic contacts between Bishkek and Nicosia.
