The meeting took place as part of the farewell ceremony for the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

Marlen Mamataliev expressed his condolences over the death of the Supreme Leader of Iran, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani, other political figures, and civilians killed in the military actions.

«We are following the tense situation in the Middle East and developments in Iran with deep concern. We call on all parties to abide by international law, exercise restraint, and resolve disputes exclusively through political and diplomatic means,» the speaker stated.

He also noted that Kyrgyzstan views the signing of the memorandum between Iran and the United States as an important step toward reducing tensions and expressed hope that the agreements reached will contribute to building trust and finding long-term solutions.

Furthermore, Mamataliev recalled that Kyrgyzstan has sent humanitarian aid to Iran in response to the loss of life and the destruction of civilian infrastructure.

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, in turn, thanked the speaker for participating in the farewell ceremony and expressed gratitude to the Kyrgyz people for their support. He also briefed the speaker on the current situation in the country and the agreements reached.

The parties discussed further development of Kyrgyzstan — Iran cooperation, as well as preparations for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization events to be held in Bishkek this year.
