According to him, a pilot project of the Ministry of Health will run in Bishkek from July 1 to December 31.

Under the pilot project, medicines prescribed through subsidized electronic prescriptions under the State Guarantees Program and the Additional Compulsory Health Insurance Program will now be sold exclusively through the state pharmacy chain El Aman.

Damir Osmonov noted that not every private pharmacy had signed an agreement with the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund to sell medicines at subsidized prices.

«We analyzed the geographic location of private pharmacies that had signed contracts. They are located in the same hospitals, meaning they are not spread across the city. Therefore, consumers will not face major inconvenience. At the same time, the pilot project will help increase the budget, improve oversight, and allow people to purchase medicines at even lower prices, since medicines in state pharmacies are at least 10 percent cheaper than in private ones,» Osmonov told 24.kg news agency.

He added that if the pilot project proves successful, it will be expanded nationwide.

Insured citizens with medical indications can purchase medicines using electronic prescriptions with discounts of up to 50 percent. The full list of available medicines can be obtained from family doctors at Family Medicine Centers or on the official website of the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund.

In addition, patients diagnosed with five categories of diseases are eligible for discounts of up to 90 percent on medicines:
