According to him, the country is seeing a negative trend in autism cases, while the number of identified cases remains underestimated.

«As of today, 380 children are registered. These are, of course, unreliable figures. We believe the actual number of such children is higher,» he said.

Bakytbek Kadyraliev also noted that 563 children with Down syndrome and 3,227 children with cerebral palsy are currently registered in the country.

One of the key challenges remains the insufficient early detection of autism. In addition, Kyrgyzstan continues to face a shortage of child psychiatrists, psychologists, and rehabilitation specialists, while access to such services in the regions remains limited.

In response, the ministry plans to complete the creation of a national registry of children with autism, cerebral palsy, and Down syndrome, as well as expand the network of early intervention centers across the country.
