The shoreline has been cleaned, the sand has been renewed, and walking paths and recreation areas have been created. The beach now has gazebos, sunshades, sun loungers, changing rooms, showers, and restrooms.

A children’s playground and a sports field have also been organized, lighting and CCTV cameras have been installed, and a medical center and rescue center are also on site.

Karakol Mayor Talantbek Imanov asked residents to take good care of the new public space: keep it clean, protect the equipment, and respect those relaxing nearby.

According to the municipality, the beach reconstruction was carried out with financial support from the Shirshov Fund Public Foundation.

This is the first project under a joint program for the development of the urban environment in Karakol.

«Schools, kindergartens, courtyards, parks, the embankment, and other public spaces are still to come. This collaboration allows us to more quickly move from plans to concrete actions and demonstrate tangible changes to residents,» Talantbek Imanov said.

The total investment that the Shirshov Fund plans to allocate for the development of Karakol is approximately 7 billion soms.

According to the City Hall, the program includes the reconstruction of five schools and five kindergartens, the improvement of 25 courtyards, the renovation of Victory Park, the construction of an embankment along the Karakol River, road repairs, modernization of lighting, irrigation ditch and sewer systems, and the purchase of new city buses.
