Total money supply and non-banking sector

As of July 1, 2026, the total amount of cash in circulation amounted to 317,026.2 billion soms. Of this amount, 31,020.3 billion soms were kept in commercial bank cash desks, while the majority of this amount—286,005.9 billion soms—is circulating outside the banking system.

Compared to the second quarter of last year, the volume of cash outside banking institutions increased by 33,264.3 billion soms, or 13.2 percent.

In the second quarter of 2026, commercial bank cash desks received 1,841,600.5 trillion soms. Year-on-year, this figure increased by 496,744.4 billion soms, or 36.9 percent compared to the second quarter of 2025.

Cash withdrawals from commercial bank cash desks reached 1,880,341.2 trillion soms. Compared to the second quarter of 2025, this indicator increased by 496,906 billion soms, or 35.9 percent.

Cash return rate: Regional breakdown

According to the results of the second quarter of 2026, the overall cash return rate to commercial bank cash desks in the republic amounted to 97.9 percent, an increase of 0.7 percent compared to the second quarter of 2025.

Bishkek: The return rate reached 99.2 percent (an increase of 0.6 percent compared to the previous year);

Batken region: The indicator was recorded at 100.2 percent (a decrease of 0.3 percent);

Jalal-Abad region: The return rate increased to 93.8 percent (an increase of 1.7 percent);

Issyk-Kul region: The rate was 97 percent (an increase of 0.8 percent);

Naryn region: The rate decreased to 91.6 percent (a decrease of 2.8 percent);

Osh region: The return rate was recorded at 100.1 percent (a slight decrease of 0.2 percent);

Osh city: The rate was 92.2 percent (a decrease of 0.3 percent);

Talas region: The return rate decreased to 93.7 percent (a decrease of 1 percent);

Chui region: The rate was 100.2 percent (an increase of 0.1 percent).
