The meeting aimed to enhance local partners’ understanding of the WFK Volunteer Program and strengthen cooperation with host institutions to support more effective and sustainable volunteer program outcomes.

The event was attended by Kim Kwangjae, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Kyrgyz Republic, Lim Soyeon, Country Director of the KOICA Office in the Kyrgyz Republic, and representatives of educational and public institutions working with the WFK Volunteer Program.

In his opening remarks, Ambassador Kim Kwangjae emphasized the important role of volunteerism and people-to-people exchanges in strengthening relations between Korea and Kyrgyzstan.

Participants were introduced to the WFK Volunteer Program and its implementation in Kyrgyzstan and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between volunteers and host institutions.

Partner institutions shared successful examples of cooperation with WFK volunteers. Representatives from Issyk-Kul State University named after K. Tynystanov and Vocational Lyceum No. 4 presented educational and community initiatives supported by KOICA volunteers, demonstrating the positive impact of the program on local communities.

Participants also took part in a cultural cooperation session, where they developed action plans and exchanged ideas on utilizing local cultural assets and expanding opportunities for cultural exchange.

The program included traditional Korean games, cultural presentations, and an introduction to WFK volunteer activities, providing participants with an opportunity to experience Korean culture firsthand and deepen their understanding of Korea.

The event concluded with closing remarks by the KOICA Country Director Lim Soyeon, who expressed appreciation to partner institutions for their continued cooperation and emphasized that strong partnerships are essential to maximizing the impact of volunteer activities and strengthening ties between Korea and Kyrgyzstan.

The meeting reaffirmed the importance of collaboration between volunteers and host institutions in promoting sustainable volunteer program outcomes and expanding educational and cultural exchange between the two countries.
