Top 5 countries for passenger car imports to the Kyrgyz Republic:

China: 18,016 units worth $157.6 million (a 2.9-fold increase compared to 2025).

South Korea: 13,647 units worth $74.6 million (a 7.9 percent decrease).

United States: 2,115 units worth $19 million (a 39.1 percent increase).

Japan: 1,146 units worth $11.7 million (a twofold increase).

Canada: 855 units worth $5.9 million (a 2.6-fold increase).

Georgia, formerly a major hub, reduced its shipments to Kyrgyzstan 13.3 times—to 142 vehicles.

Car re-exports: Shipments to Russia increased nearly fourfold

Exports of passenger cars from the Kyrgyz Republic over the first three months of 2026 reached 847 units worth 1,441,557,400 soms ($16,484,500). Compared to the first quarter of 2025, the volume of shipments increased fourfold.

The Russian market is the key consumer, with the vast majority of vehicles being shipped there.

Main export destinations for passenger cars:

Russia: 704 units worth $12.8 million (a 3.8-fold increase in physical volume).

China: 73 units worth $1.1 million.

Uzbekistan: 51 units worth $1.6 million.

Commercial and special-purpose vehicles

Imports of commercial vehicles in the first quarter of 2026 totaled 6,159 units worth $78.3 million, an increase of 14.5 percent. South Korea (3,263 units worth $15.1 million) and China (1,693 units worth $54.4 million) dominate this segment, with Chinese vehicles being significantly more expensive than South Korean ones due to their higher payload capacity.

In the special-purpose vehicle segment, 727 units were imported for $15 million. 447 units came from China, and 159 from South Korea.

Automotive components and vehicle bodies market

Kyrgyzstan imported a large shipment of vehicle bodies—794 units worth $5.5 million. The main shipments came from Uzbekistan (462 units) and China (263 units). Over the three-month period, 8,500 tons of auto parts and components worth $29.6 million were imported, with China leading in tonnage (4,800 tons).

At the same time, Kyrgyz entrepreneurs actively supplied auto components to foreign markets. Exports of auto parts totaled 3,200 tons worth $16.2 million. Of this amount, 2,900 tons (more than 90 percent of the total volume) went to the Russian Federation, and 236.1 tons went to Belarus.
