According to the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration Adylbek Kasymaliev, the incidents were caused by violations of operating and safety rules, the technical condition of equipment, damage to power lines by contractors, as well as negligence by individual officials responsible for the facilities.

Kasymaliev stressed that unscheduled outages cause public dissatisfaction and harm businesses. He said such incidents are unacceptable as the country prepares for the autumn-winter period.

The Cabinet Chairman ordered the establishment of a special commission to investigate the causes of emergency outages in the regions, including the incident that occurred on August 14.

The commission is to provide a legal and disciplinary assessment of the actions of officials from ministries, energy companies and contracting organizations.

Based on the commission’s findings, proposals are to be prepared on holding those responsible accountable.
