According to her, 14,000 of those registered are Kyrgyzstanis. She noted that the primary route of transmission remains sexual contact (64.4 percent), while parenteral transmission accounts for 28 percent of cases.

Vice Speaker Meder Aliev asked whether it can be assumed that the actual number of people living with HIV/AIDS is significantly higher. The deputy minister responded that such a conclusion is difficult to make, as detection rates have improved to 85 percent.

«There is information about outbreaks of this disease in Russia. Many migrants work there, and some of them are infected. We are helping them with medications,» Gulbara Ishenapysova added.
