According to him, a number of citizens approached him with complaints.
«It turned out that the Kyrgyzstanis saw an advertisement for IT jobs in Belarus. They were given tickets, and once they were there, their passports were seized and they were forced to sell synthetic drugs. Before they even started selling drugs, they were caught and imprisoned. Several citizens have already received prison sentences. Among them are very young people, 18 years old and older. It is necessary to work on the extradition of our citizens to their homeland,» Dastan Bekeshev said.
He added that public outreach efforts regarding illegal employment and its consequences need to be strengthened.
He was supported by Deputy Speaker Meder Aliev, who noted that many Kyrgyzstanis are imprisoned in Russia and other countries, convicted on drug-related charges.
«This is a very sensitive issue, and therefore requires increased outreach to the public and warnings about fraudulent schemes,» he added.
The Prosecutor General’s Office noted that it will take the deputies’ information into account.
