According to preliminary data, the disaster hit at around 1 a.m. on May 25 and affected areas across six rural municipalities in the district.

The mudflows flooded the basements of 56 residential houses and the yards of 23 additional households. Water also entered the basement of one hospital and flooded a schoolyard.

In the village of Sary-Kolot, one residential house and six barns were damaged and declared unsafe. The mudflow also swept away 48 sheep.

Cleanup operations are underway in the villages of Kyrgyz-Chek, Padavan, and Tash-Aryk. Emergency rescuers, specialized equipment, and local authorities are deployed at the sites.

Civil defense services continue to assess the damage and carry out restoration work.
