A bill

«On the Heritage of Nomadic Civilizations and the Special Status of the World Nomad Games»

has been submitted to the Zhogorku Kenesh (Parliament). The document proposes to legally enshrine the special status of the Games as an international cultural and sports project initiated by Kyrgyzstan.

According to the supporting documents, the bill provides for recognizing the republic as the spiritual and coordinating center of the World Nomad Games and would secure intellectual property rights to the World Nomad Games brand.

The document notes that the Games have become an important instrument of cultural diplomacy and have gained international recognition. In particular, the project was included in the list of UNESCO best practices for safeguarding intangible cultural heritage, while the UN General Assembly highlighted the role of the Games in promoting cultural dialogue.

The draft law also regulates the organization of the Games, issues of international cooperation and financing, and the creation of a Secretariat of the World Nomad Games.
