The investigation found that officials from the Kyrgyz Border Service and the Department of the State Tax Service for EAEU had been accepting payments to facilitate the unhindered entry of heavy trucks carrying commercial goods into Kyrgyzstan. The vehicles were officially declared as empty.

Following investigative measures, a Kyrgyz Border Service serviceman, E.u.Ch., employees of the Department of the State Tax Service for EAEU for the northern region Dzh.M.T. and O.K.I., as well as a heavy-truck driver N.M.S., were detained.

Under Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Kyrgyzstan, the suspects were placed in the temporary detention facility of the SCNS detention center.

Operational and investigative measures are currently underway to establish all the circumstances of the case and identify other individuals involved.
