According to him, the growth in tourist arrivals reflects the development of the economy and the increasing recognition of Kyrgyzstan internationally.
«The population of our country is about seven million people. When the number of tourists is almost twice as high, this means an additional contribution to GDP growth at the level of 4–5 percent,» he said.
The head of state emphasized that many countries spend significant resources on promoting their tourism potential, while Kyrgyzstan attracts visitors with its natural landscapes and recreational opportunities.
He called on citizens to treat tourists with attention and respect, noting that every visitor contributes to the economy and the development of the regions.
«Mineral resources will eventually run out, but tourism will remain. In the future, tourism will become one of the main pillars of Kyrgyzstan’s economy,» the president said.
Japarov also called on young people to pursue professions related to tourism, including jobs as tour guides and specialists in welcoming foreign guests.
