Across the country’s industrial sector, the food industry accounts for a significant share of manufacturing output, which overall produced goods worth 356,200.3 billion soms in the first half of the year.The contribution of the food, processing, and tobacco industries amounts to more than 16 percent of the total manufacturing sector. This underscores the industry’s strategic importance for ensuring the country’s food security.
Production capacity is unevenly distributed, with the northern regions bearing the brunt. Statistics confirm the leadership of Bishkek and Chui region:
Bishkek: output worth 26,070.7 billion soms.
Chui region: production volume amounted to 23,094.5 billion soms.
Jalal-Abad region: 2,057.9 billion soms.
Issyk-Kul region: 1,447.3 billion soms.
Talas region: 1,273.6 billion soms.
The largest production volumes are recorded in key sub-sectors that meet domestic demand:
Food products — 38,278.1 billion soms.
Bakery products — 11,100 billion soms.
Dairy products — 10,361.9 billion soms.
Flour and cereals — 5,499.3 billion soms.
