From 2023 to September 1, 2025, more than 1.6 million people underwent free testing. Treatment is currently being provided to 4,918 patients with hepatitis B, 2,473 patients with hepatitis B and D co-infection, and 6,141 patients with hepatitis C.

Free testing for viral hepatitis B and C is available at Family Medicine Centers and General Medical Practice Centers at the place of residence. In case of a positive result, patients are sent for confirmatory testing and treatment.

Under the program, adults aged 24 to 65, as well as all previously unvaccinated citizens, are eligible for free vaccination. The vaccine is administered in three doses on a 0—1—6 month schedule and provides long-term protection.

It is noted that 750,000 doses of hepatitis B vaccine were previously delivered to the country, which will allow broader immunization coverage.

Hepatitis B and C treatment is fully state-funded and includes specialist consultations, laboratory tests, antiviral medications, and monitoring of treatment effectiveness.
