According to the statement, the Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport of the European Commission informed the Kyrgyz side that all air carriers certified in Kyrgyzstan had been removed from the list of airlines subject to the EU flight ban.

The decision was made following a meeting of the EU Air Safety Committee held on May 19–21, 2026. It will be formalized through a corresponding regulation of the European Commission.

Kyrgyzstan had been on the so-called EU blacklist since 2006. The restrictions were imposed due to shortcomings in the country’s flight safety oversight system and its non-compliance with international aviation safety standards.

The presidential administration noted that in recent years Kyrgyzstan had carried out comprehensive reforms in civil aviation, strengthened state oversight of flight safety, and aligned the national aviation system with the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

The European Commission positively assessed the results of technical consultations, an evaluation visit by European experts to Kyrgyzstan in March 2026, and hearings held in Brussels.

Yntymak Ordo emphasized that the removal from the blacklist opens new opportunities for the development of international air connections and closer cooperation with European countries. At the same time, the European Commission will continue technical cooperation with the Kyrgyz side to maintain the achieved results.
