The number of infant deaths during the same period in 2025 was 413.

The main causes of death during this period were:

conditions arising in the perinatal period — 271 children (64 percent of the total number of infant deaths);

congenital malformations — 81 infants (19 percent);

respiratory diseases — 46 children (11 percent).

The Ministry of Health is preparing a reform of perinatal services through 2030.

Key development priorities include:

improving the system for monitoring pregnant women and routing patients;

revising antenatal care standards with an emphasis on the quality of medical care;

implementation of modern prenatal screening technologies;

developing family planning efforts.
