According to police, the incident occurred on August 21, 2024, at the intersection of Abdrakhmanov and Toktogul streets. Unknown individuals offered to exchange the victim’s USDT digital assets for US dollars and then allegedly took possession of the cryptocurrency.

The amount of damage was estimated at $82,550.

A criminal case has been opened under Article 209 «Fraud» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

During operational activities, police identified and detained a man, 43. He was placed in the temporary detention facility of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Bishkek.

The investigation is ongoing to identify other possible participants involved in the crime and establish all circumstances of the incident.
