- Планируется создание мультимодального транспортного узла на побережье.
- Ожидается перевозка до 5 млн тонн грузов ежегодно, включая стройматериалы.
As the head of state noted, the new railway line will be 86 kilometers long. It will be connected to Balykchy-Kochkor railway currently under construction and will be part of the region’s transport infrastructure development.
According to Sadyr Japarov, the railway will be integrated with Issyk-Kul International Airport. A modern multimodal transport hub is planned for the coast, combining rail, road, and air travel.
The President emphasized that the project will increase freight traffic and improve transport accessibility in Issyk-Kul region. According to preliminary estimates, the new line will be used to transport up to 5 million tons of cargo annually, including construction materials needed for major investment projects in the region.
The railway is also expected to promote tourism. The new route will increase passenger traffic and reduce traffic congestion during the holiday season.
The Balykchy—Cholpon-Ata railway project has been discussed for several years. It was previously reported that the new line would be the first stage in the development of the railway network along the Issyk-Kul shore and would improve transport connectivity in the region.
